slash files for divorce

The former Guns N' Roses rocker slash (real name Saul Hudson)  filed papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason behind the split from Perla Ferrar.

The couple married in October 2001 and have two sons together, London Emilio, 8 and  Cash Anthony 6.

The guitarist has listed the date of separation as July 15 2010.  He is requesting joint physical and legal custody of the two boys and is willing to pay spousal support.

This is Slash's second marriage after splitting from first wife Renee Suran in 1997 after a five-year union.

It seemed fatherhood and marriage to Perla had a calming influence on Slash.  The 45-year-old musician said: "I quit doing drugs. But because I'm a habitual kinda guy, if I quit doing drugs, then I drink. And then if I quit drinking, I do drugs - forever. So I quit doing drugs this one time, and I decided not to drink too. It's been four years. And I really don't miss it."

Bret Michaels sues promoter

Bret Michaels is taking legal action against a promoter over allegations the rocker turned up to perform in New York only to be told the concert had been canceled without his knowledge.

The Poison star claims he arrived at the CNY Regional Market venue in Syracuse, New York on August 5, 2010 with his crew but left fuming when he found out the gig had been postponed. The concert promoter, Mike Banks, allegedly claimed he canceled the show because he found out Michaels was due to appear on American Idol that night, but the TV appearance was in fact pre-recorded.

Michaels has now filed a lawsuit against Banks and Aloha Events, accusing the promoter of "breaching his contract and exposing him to public contempt and ridicule with allegedly defamatory statements about his schedule."

The lawsuit is allegedly seeking more than $5 million in damages.

true blood in hd is better than ever

Guest written by Sergio Chaney

True Blood just keeps getting better and better. I've been a fan from day one but I think this is the best season so far. I have enjoyed watching True Blood now in it's third season, so much in High Definition. The images are just so much better in HD. The series literally pulls you into the storyline when watched in HD. True Blood is also such a sensory show anyway. Consider the sets, the eclectic Southern characters and the music used in the series. When I watch the series in HD I can see the amazing detail that goes into the show in high resolution, as well as enjoy the cd quality sound. Popular music and songs are used throughout True Blood and are a part of the true experience and impact of the show. I think if you don't hear it in HD you're missing part of the show. I love watching television in HD on our tv we got from direct tv promotions near Seattle. With the rise of vampires in pop culture there are plenty of vampire shows to watch these days but my favorite of the genre is True Blood. The screenwriter/producer Alan Ball, who also produced Six Feet Under and wrote American Beauty, does an excellent job of bringing the vision of True Blood from the novels by Charlaine Harris to screen.
