will hoge ~ when i can afford to lose

Critically-acclaimed Nashville rocker Will Hoge is releasing an EP titled The Living Room Sessions on Ryko on Oct. 12, 2010 and will be joining Shinedown on tour throughout November and December 2010.

The six-song acoustic EP was recorded in only two days in Hoge’s living room and features stripped-down versions of essential songs (“Long Gone,” “Favorite Waste of Time,” “Goodnight/Goodbye,” “Too Late Too Soon” and “Even If It Breaks Your Heart”) from his latest album, The Wreckage, and the fan favorite, “All Night Long,” from Hoge’s 2003 album, Blackbird On A Lonely Wire.

“I like acoustic recordings that try to be different from the album versions,” says Hoge. “We just got together and camped out at my house for a couple of days… it’s not a home studio, no real fancy set-up or multi-tracking. The console was a laptop on a card table, and that same table also served simultaneously as the keyboard stand. There were no real overdubs or re-dos or pitch correct. We just did it ‘til we liked it and let it be…not out of laziness, it just seemed to fit.”

Hoge, the relentless road warrior, kicked-off his headlining tour last weekend in Nashville, which will continue through October. He’ll then join rockers Shinedown on their “Anything & Everything” tour kicking-off Nov. 4, 2010 in Tampa, Fl. and wrapping up in New Orleans, La. on Dec 9, 2010. The tour spans over 25 major cities throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast regions of the United States.

jimmy eat world - secret show

Jimmy Eat World played a "secret" show in Scottsdale, AZ last Thursday.
Only it wasn't really a secret; the Mesa-born band spilled the beans on themselves through Facebook.
That's also where they released their forthcoming sixth album, "Invented," 60 seconds at a time.
"We just wanted to give our fans a little taste of the new record, give them something to get excited about," guitarist Tom Linton said during a phone call last week from his Chandler home.
The album reunites the band with their old producer Mark Trombino, who was with Jimmy Eat World on their first three recordings.
Jimmy Eat World returns to the road for the first time in nearly two years to showcase "Invented," their follow-up to 2007's "Chase This Light."
Linton said playing for Arizona audiences is a lot like a family reunion.  "There's not as much pressure when we're at home," he said. "It's like playing for our friends and family."

The Big Bang Theory Everything You Want In A TV Sitcom

Contributed by Maria Ruiz

The Big Bang Theory is a hysterical comedy centered around a group of four nerdy friends who are so smart; they are complete imbeciles when it comes to social skills. The group consists of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) who portray a couple of mismatched roommates with Sheldon constantly tormenting Leonard with his unreasonable set of roommate rules and demands.
Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) are their braniac friends and co-workers at Cal Tech. Raj cannot manage to get a word out when in the company of women and Wolowitz fancies himself as a real ladies man but generally manages to insult any potential love interest.
Penny, an aspiring screenwriter and actress, moves in across the hall and that's when the fun really begins. Just out of a bad relationship, Penny decides to meet guys that are more than good looking. Having a beautiful woman show these guys feminine attention is a whole new experience and it doesn't take long for Leonard to set his sights on the unattainable goal of dating Penny.
This is the first TV sitcom that I have truly found myself laughing at in years. The humor is fantastic and the chemistry between the five of them allows for hilarious banter and one-liners. I've already made sure my direct tv is set to record for The Big Bang Theory season premiere.

roommate reunion

Guest post written by Betty Coolson

Every few months I try to get together for a nice long lunch at a nice restaurant with my old college roommate Susan. Although we only live a few hours apart, it sometimes feels like we're worlds away from each other. But once we get together it's just like old times and feels like we just saw each other yesturday!
This time we tried a new restaurant that had gotten some pretty good reviews. We started out with the normal questions about each other's families and then started talking about old times together like always. Then she told me that she had seen one of our old friends the other day and was telling me about how he was doing. It ends up he's in bad health and I thought she said he had got a divorce instead. She corrected me and told me that she had just bougth some hearing aids CHARLOTTE and suggested that I do the same.
I decided to listen to her advice and looked up miricle ear hearing in Columbus. She's always been on the look out for me and seems to know what's best!
