keane ~ is it any wonder?

Tim Rice-Oxley has said that it is unlikely he will fight with Tom Chaplin over lead singing duties in Keane.

The songwriter and pianist already sings backing vocals in the band but both he and bassist Jesse Quin perform lead vocals on their Mt. Desolation project.

Mt. Desolation is an alt-country band from England. It is the side project of Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin, members of the rock band Keane. Their self-titled debut album was released on 18 October 18 2010. The band's line-up is extensive, including members of Keane, Noah & The Whale, The Killers, The Long Winters, The Staves, Mumford & Sons. The core of the band, though, is composed of front men Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin, both members of Keane.

When asked if the experience could lead him to push for a lead singing role on Keane's next record, Rice-Oxley said "I doubt it. Tom's such a great singer that it's just a pleasure to listen to him. He certainly makes it look so easy!

"I think I feel more confident about maybe singing the odd song. I do a lot of backing vocals already but I feel more confident about doing that now and pulling my weight a bit more in the vocal department."

Asked if he would ever work with founding Keane guitarist Dominic Scott - who left the band in 2001 - again, Rice-Oxley said "We're still in touch, but I've not seen him for a few months. He's got his own band called Roundstone who are actually really, really good and I think they're starting to do things which is great.

"It's weird those things. It's tempting to do stuff together - I hope we do get a chance to do stuff together again. We'll know when the time is right."

http://exclaim.ca/images/bach.jpg

Singer Sebastian Bach has been released on $3,000 bail after he was charged with assaulting a staff member at a bar in Canada.
Bach was released Monday after he was charged with assaulting the bartender, as well as possession of marijuana and mischief.
On Monday afternoon, Toronto Police were on their way to Peterborough, to arrest Bach on a six-year-old warrant.
Const. Tony Vella said the warrant for Bach stems from a mischief under $5,000 charge.
The singer , who lives in New Jersey, was raised in Peterborough.

Early Monday morning, police allege Bach - whose real name is Sebastian Bierk - was at Riley's Old Towne Pub in Peterborough when he got into a dispute with the staff and was asked to leave at 12:02 a.m.
He walked to the door carrying a glass of wine, police said, and when he was told he couldn't leave with it he threw it at the front doors, shattering the glass.
Police said a staff member restrained him until officers arrived, and while they waited a scuffle ensued.
When officers searched him they found marijuana on him.
Bierk, 42, has been charged with assault, possession of marijuana and mischief.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on 23 Nov. 2010.

marilyn manson - next album

http://www.100xr.com/100_XR/Artists/M/Marilyn_Manson/Marilyn.Manson-band-2003.jpg

Rocker Marilyn Manson’s next album is going to be more punk rock, according to his guitarist. Speaking to The Blairing Out with Eric Blair Show, Twiggy Ramirez (aka Jeordie White) said Manson’s eight studio album is “kind of like a little more of a punk-rock Mechanical Animals,” referring to the 1998 album.
Ramirez said that the album was “almost done” and would most likely be out in 2011. “It’s fantastic,” he said. “It’s our best record yet, I think. I mean, everyone always says that, but I think this is our best work so far.”
The guitarist rejoined Manson’s band in 2008, after a split that lasted seven years. While away, he played bass for A Perfect Circle. That band has recently reunited, but Ramirez isn’t involved, at least not in a full-time capacity.
“I might do a song or two with them at an L.A. show,” he said. “But for the next couple of years my priorities are with Marilyn Manson.”

foo fighters ~ no way back

The Foo Fighters are an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1994. Drummer Dave Grohl formed the group as a one-man project after the dissolution of his previous band, Nirvana, in 1994. Prior to the release of the band's eponymous debut album in 1995, Grohl drafted two members from the former band Sunny Day Real Estate, Nate Mendel as bassist and William Goldsmith as drummer, as well as fellow Nirvana bandmate Pat Smear as guitarist to complete the group. The band was small and young, and began with performances in Portland, Oregon, before gaining popularity. Goldsmith left during the recording of the group's second album, The Colour and the Shape (1997), and Smear's departure followed soon afterward. They were replaced by Taylor Hawkins and Franz Stahl, respectively, although Stahl left before the recording of the group's third album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose (1999).

Chris Shiflett joined as the band's third guitarist after the completion of There Is Nothing Left to Lose. The band released its fourth album, One by One, in 2002. The group followed that release with the two-disc In Your Honor (2005), which was split between acoustic songs and harder-rocking material. Foo Fighters released its sixth album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, in 2007. Later that year, guitarist Pat Smear rejoined the band.

Over the course of the band's existence, three of its albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six have been nominated for Grammys.
