my favorite healthy tv snacks

Thanks for the post from Oliver Bailey - guest blogger

I love to watch TV comedies. My favorite comedy is The Big Bang Theory. I can't wait until it returns in the fall. We have a satellite dish, and I record every episode on my DVR as a result of the best deals on direct tv. I often watch my recorded episodes whenever I'm folding laundry or cooking dinner. My son watches TV with me sometimes. His favorite programs are Caillou, Sid the Science Kid, and Dinosaur Train.

I try to eat healthy TV snacks because I feel like I need to set a good example for my son. When we watch TV together, I put out healthy fruits and vegetables for us to eat. We eat sliced carrots and broccoli with little cups of ranch dressing. At other times, I slice apples or peaches for us to share. Apple juice is my son's favorite drink. My favorite is Diet Coke. We live in the South, so it's very hot during the summer and I try to make sure we drink plenty of water. My son likes to eat crackers and peanut butter with his fruit. Graham crackers and Ritz crackers are his favorites.

billy corgan collapses

Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan reportedly collapsed onstage during a show in Florida. After the incident, the singer took to Twitter to tell fans that it was not a part of the show or a publicity stunt.

According to a report from the BBC, the band was in the midst of "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" when the 43-year-old singer suddenly hit the deck.

"That wasn't a stage move or clumsiness," Corgan tweeted. "That was me blacking out and wiping out."

There has been no news thus far as to the cause of the fall or the nature of Corgan's injuries, but the singer did add that he has some bruises and soreness.

bret michaels tour bus

Indiana cops claim they found pot and other illegal drugs in two of Bret Micheals'  tour buses last night.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office tells TMZ Bret was onboard one of buses when cops made the stop at around 11:30 PM.  K9s found the pot.  One of the buses -- not the one Bret was on -- had Schedule II controlled substances inside, and cops tells us they're illegal drugs.

Citations were issued but no arrests were made.  The case is being forwarded to DeKalb prosecutors.

Michaels' rep gave us the following statement:

"Two of Bret’s tour buses were pulled over late last night. Officers on the scene claimed there were no trailer tag lights. No arrests were made. Mr. Michaels allowed an open search of the buses and everything was handled in a professional manner."

favorite comedy show: life on the d list

Thanks for the post from Darrick Moreno - guest blogger

Kathy Griffin is one of the best female comedians out there. She knows her stuff, and she isn't afraid to make bold statements about her beliefs. I think her show, "Life on the D List," is one of the most hilarious shows out there. It is a show that depicts the backstage life of Kathy Griffin, along with some of her best stand-up comedy acts.
I always try to catch this program on the Bravo network that my Direct TV dealer in Boston set me up with. It's an awesome show with so much punch. One recent episode I watched featured Kathy Griffin taking an adventure to Wasilla, Alaska. The reason? She wanted to meet Levi Johnston, the guy who fathered Bristol Palin's child. Even while making such bold political moves like befriending Levi Johnston, Kathy Griffin has the ability to charm anyone and everyone. It was great to see how much the people in Wasilla embraced Kathy Griffin, rather than dismiss her for her differing political views. It's also cute to see how much Kathy Griffin bonds with her own mother on the show. In many of her comedy acts, Griffin makes her mother the focal point. She is always making fun of the different "hang ups" in their relationship, which gives other women a way to deal with similar issues.
Overall, "Life on the D List" is a great program to watch!

favorite reality show

This was written by guest blogger Taylor Kelanome

My favorite reality show to watch on satellite television is none other than The Biggest Loser on NBC. It just amazes me that Jillian Micheals is able to transform some of the bodies that she has been able to. I mean some of these people come on the show weighing like 2 and 300 pounds overweight but after Jillian gets ahold of them, they end up looking like movie stars. It is just jaw dropping.
I have been a fan of the show ever since it has came on and it is actually inspired me to watch what I eat and get motivated to workout myself. Still, the biggest draw of the show to me is watching how Jillian and her crew works over the competetors to get the most out of them. The best part is the season ending finale when everyone is weighed in and you can see exactly how far they have come since the beginning of the show. In my opinion, this is the reason that I believe that The Biggest Loser is the best reality show on satelite tv.

leo through the years

This was written by guest blogger Jake Cokely

Shutter Island is one messed up movie and I mean that in a good way! I figured I would just order a movie from the Movies on Demand feature offered by www.bestchoicetv.com to pass some time while waiting on my girlfriend to get off from work before we went on our date. I did not know I was going to be taken on a wild ride of suspense. I have always liked Leonardo DiCaprio. He is a good actor and I used to watch him way back in the day on a popular television show called Growing Pains. He was just a young kid back then. Then of course, I saw him just like everyone else in the blockbuster movie Titanic. He was good in that movie. Even he had me crying in that. I have seen him in a few movies since then like that one called Catch Me if you Can with Tom Hanks where he goes all over the world writing counterfeit checks and flying in planes. The thing with Leonardo is that every time I see the man he never looks any older. I hope that when I get to be his age that I still look that good. I wonder if it is the money, the diet, or all of those hot models he date that keeps him so young.

george micheal crashes car

LONDON – British media reports say George Michael has been arrested after a car crash in London.

The BBC says the 47-year-old singer was arrested Sunday after police responded to reports that a car had crashed into a building in Hampstead, an upscale residential area in north London.

Police say only that they arrested a man in his 40s early Sunday on suspicion of being unfit to drive. They say the man was taken to a police station and released on bail.

The singer's publicists in London declined to comment Tuesday.

Last year, Michael was questioned by police after his car hit a tractor-trailer, but was released. He was banned from driving for two years in 2007 after pleading guilty to driving on drugs.
